Why do cars usually encounter problems when it is cold

As we move out of summer into winter things change.Weather is naturally one of them. But did you know the fact that as the weather changes our cars are also affected?  It seems that there are more problems in the winter with cars.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. In this article we will look at why the weather hurts your cars.

In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries. The reason for this is because when it is cold your battery has more work to do.And because of that it runs a little harder.Your headlights are used more because the daylight is shorter in winter time. And a heater drains the battery more compared to an air conditioning. So to make sure your car does not enocunter battery problems you must make sure that everytime you go out your battery is in good condition.

Frozen fuel lines is another problem that cars usually encounter during a cold season.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Carlsbad auto repair service.  But this is a big problem in cold weather cities.Condensation starts when you are low on fuel.  Well when it gets cold that condensation freezes up and stops fuel from getting to the engine. The best way to prevent this from happening is to always fill your gas tank full.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.  Cold weather will make tires lose pressure. This is not good because it can affect the tires thickness.  Bald tires won’t do well on icy conditions.  So this is a serious problem. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.

So those are some of the most common auto problems during cold season. You can prevent some of the problems if you can just do those tips.  And when it is cold you definitely don’t want to have those problems.
