If you are bored with vegetarians telling you how healthy they are because they don’t eat meat you might be interested in some counterarguments. In actual fact there are many reasons why eating meat is also good for you and you will find a few of these reasons if you read on.

- It is a part of our culture to eat meat; our species have been eating meat since its origin. It is very unlikely that humans would have survived to this day without the fact that meat was always part of our diet.

- We need protein to survive and meat is a great natural source of protein. Protein is used by our bodies to build cells and to provide us with energy; it is also used for a number of other essential elements of human life.

- Our blood is kept healthy by the inclusion of iron in our diets and one great source of iron is meat. One of the reasons why many vegetarians look so pale is because of the fact that they do not eat meat and this means they are not getting enough iron in their diet. For meat eaters, a lack of iron is not really a problem, it is provided by the meat they eat so they don’t have to worry about whether they are getting enough. Most vegetarians (especially vegans) have to work hard to get enough iron in their diet.

- People often find that without B vitamins in the diet, they can become quite depressed as they are essential to mental functioning. Meat is a great source of the B vitamins.

- Another substance which we should have in our diet is conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) as it is thought to help fight against a number of cancers; CLA is found naturally in meat.

- Meat also contains Stearic acid which may be useful because it can lower cholesterol levels.

So the above reasons will go some way to showing you why eating meat can be good. The next time a vegetarian tries to give you a bit of a lecture you will have these facts to counter with.

As people become more aware in these contemporary times we live, they like to find out as much information as they can about issues such asnutritional information. As well as this, plenty of these people also like to find out about healthy eating recipes or even red meat.

Nothing says “guilty pleasure” more than a scrumptious dessert with a generous heap of light and creamy whipped cream on top. For some reason, cream pies, crepes, ice cream, cakes, and coffee become twice as heavenly with whipped cream topping. Some people even forego the dessert and can get by with just the whipped cream!
Whipped cream can be purchased from the store easily, but where is the fun in that? It would be more delightful and cost efficient to make your own dessert topping using a cream whipper. It is very easy and it ensures that your cream topping always comes out fresh and ready for your ultimate indulgence.
As a responsible dessert lover however, you also need to ensure that you are taking good care of the main tool that produces your beloved whipped cream. Here are some maintenance tips to keep your whipper and cream charger in tiptop condition.
Do not use grainy ingredients.
Use only soluble ingredients in your cream dispenser. Liquid creamers are best. If you must sweeten the mix, use confectioners sugar which is finer than the granulated variety. Solid ingredients are not easily dissolved and can affect the quality of the outcome, and may clog the nozzle of the dispenser.
Fill the bottle to only to three-fourths of its capacity.
Never fill the dispenser with ingredients up to the brim. Ideally, the cream whipper bottle should only be three-fourths full to make room for the gas from the cream charger, which makes the cream fluffy.
Always remove and wash the nozzle after use.
After you have decorated desserts and topped ice cream or coffee with cream to your heart’s content, remove the nozzle and wash it with hot, sudsy water. If there is leftover cream and you need to refrigerate the dispenser for storage, never leave an unwashed nozzle on.
Release the gas before opening a used dispenser.
When you’ve spent all the whipped cream and you need to open the whipper for washing, make sure that you release all the gas inside beforehand. Just press the lever on top to do so.
Dismantle the cream whipper before washing.
Disassemble the whipper and wash each part thoroughly with hot, sudsy water, then rinse. For the charger, simply wipe it with a cleaning cloth and keep dry.
Let it dry before storing.
Make sure that all the parts have dried completely before placing them in storage. Do not reassemble, just store it dismantled.
Aside from the saving money on commercially sold whipped creams, another wonderful reason to make your own dessert topping at home is the fact that homemade whipped cream tastes so much better than the store-bought variety. So go ahead and whip up a storm of desserts, and don’t forget to follow these easy maintenance steps for your whipper and charger.

Lunch Tins and Pails

Tin lunch boxes (made of a silvery metal that resists corrosion) may feature a plain metal exterior or have embossed/flat lithographs all over them. Tin lunchboxes first appeared over a hundred years ago, when children started to use tin containers from biscuits and cookies to carry their lunch to school. Lightweight tin boxes are an improvement to the early toolbox-grade metal lunch boxes. Available today are dome shaped tin boxes that are reminiscent of the early steel lunch boxes. Most tin boxes close with a latch, while some may have a zipper closure instead.

Tin lunch boxes are not just a way to take your lunch to school or work; they are also a great collectible carry-all. Like most anything else the collectors scour the world looking for those unique and sought after collector lunch tin. Plain tin boxes are great for promotional packaging, or for making a personalized gift.

Lunch tin are nice and roomy pail-shaped containers, which you can use for carrying your lunch to work or school. Even though pails can be used for any types of food, their construction makes them particularly good for carrying liquid meals, including soups, meats with sauce, and others. Nesting and stack-able pails are a good way to separately carry meats, veggies, and soups. Separate lunch tin containers usually snap together making carrying separate food easy.. Lunch tins can make a great ice pail as well.

The lunch pail appeared long before lunch boxes. Over one-hundred years ago Lunch Tins were made of heavy-duty metal. Contrary to being a chic item, back then they actually indicated that their owner couldn’t afford a good noontime meal. Later on some children were using metal lunch tins from snacks like animal crackers as their lunch containers. Now, comfortable and lightweight lunch pails are made of tin or good grade stainless steel.

Either way, a lunch tin made from metal is going to be better then any plastic thing you can get in the store today. So make sure to find a metal lunch tin and be assured that your lunch is going to be in good condition when lunch time arrives.

Foaming milk for an espresso drink isn’t difficult once you know the steps and have an opportunity to practice a bit. There are just a couple of easy steps to achieve the best foam for your specialty drinks.

If you are using a commercial espresso machine or a quality home machine like the Breville die cast 800esxl espresso machine the foaming process will only take around 15 seconds to complete.

To start you want to place the nozzle of the steam wand into the middle of the milk pitcher. The steam tip needs to be one half inch below the surface of the liquid. When you have the correct placement of the nozzle it is time to open up the steam valve. You want to turn the valve all the way open.

The steam tip will be taking in air from the top of the liquid. The steam and air from the wand will cause the milk to expand forming a thick foam. It helps to tilt the pitcher to one side, which will create a whirlpool.

Lower the pitcher as the dense foam is forming, making certain to keep the wand tip just below the surface of the milk. If you are doing this correctly you will hear an intermittent hissing sound, which is an indicator that the milk is taking in air. If you hear a jet-like howling sound you are too far down into the milk and need to bring the tip up nearer the surface.

Once the milk is stretched and you have your desired amount of foam you might still need to heat the milk the rest of the way.You can achieve this by putting the tip of the wand on the bottom of the pitcher briefly till when you feel the bottom and it is hot to the touch.

That is pretty much all there is to foaming milk. After you make a few drinks you will be an expert at the technique. If you are looking for a great machine to learn on, the Breville XX800ESXL espresso machine is an excellent choice without being cost prohibitive.

Its pretty much like a tradition but inside spring time of every single year persons in America blow the dust of there barbecue sets and start off to bulk buy all their meats. But how much do we definitely know about barbecuing?
1) Barbecues originated in pig-pickin’s, previous to the civil war it was widespread to throw parties and elaborate meals outside, they would roast an total pig on an open flame.

two) “Smoking” has been used for more than 6 millenia to safely cook and store foods. The meat was treated to bellows of smoke and low heat this was done to avoid any bacteria cultivating.

3) Barbecuing seriously isn’t that widespread, properly not barbecuing as we no it barbecuing is really a length cooking expertise that cooks at a temperatures similar to boiling water as a way to tenderize the meat though preserving the juices. Today the approach most normally used is in fact broiling, cooking at in very much less time and also a far larger temperature, about 300 degrees increased.

4) According to surveys accomplished by the Barbecue Industry Association, half of all marshmallows consumed inside U.S. have been flame roasted.

5) 1 on the insanely simple ways to examine your gas tank degree, use bathroom scales.

6) The origin of the term barbecue is unclear. Some think it came from the American-Indian word barbacoa for a wood on which foods were cooked.

7) To add a Smokey flavor to food cooked with a gas grill cooked or meals which you cook within the house, use “liquid Smoke.” Liquid Smoke is really a condensation of actual smoke, this product is basically additional to any barbecue.

Brisket, this incredibly dense cut of meat taken from a cow’s chest, cooks in 1 to a couple of hours per pound on the barbecue. This operates out at an average of 12 hours cooking time on the grill to get a fundamental 8 pound piece!

9) Kansas City, Missouri and Lexington, North Carolina both claim to be the barbecue capitals of the world. Memphis, meanwhile, stakes a claim to being the pork barbecue capital.

Wine refrigerators come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from the small and cute to the jaw-droppingly massive. It’s therefore refreshing to find a unit that hits both needs in the middle in terms of both space and capacity, and that’s the GE Monogram Wine Cooler from General Electric.

Here’s what all the fuss is about when it comes to this unit:

Maybe it’s down to the fact that so many bottles can be stowed in such a small amount of space. All in all, the GE monogram wine chiller has a total wine bottle capacity of 57, even though size-wise it fits very comfortable into a cabinet space just 24 inches wide, and with regular depth.

So how has all this been done? Quite simply and ingeniously, all the bottles are spread between seven wine rack shelves, each embellished with a heart-of-cherry wood front which is easily admired through the tempered and UV-resistant glass door.

All of the bottles are easily accessible too, since the shelves of the ge monogram zdwc240nbs extend fully outwards, lending the opportunity to store wine vertically as well as flat if required.

Of course, part of the fun in having a wine collection is in being able to have it on display and show others, but not at the expense of being overly theatrical or tasteless. And the GE monogram wine cooler strikes this balance very well with it’s soft interior lighting setup.

While the wine cooler lighting can be set to only turn on upon opening the door, it can also be set to remain on even when shut, emblazing the unit in a soft and enticing glow.

As you’d expect, the temperature is fully adjustable on the zdwc240nbs for either storing or serving wine as well, so it’s perfect for both a bar or restaurant setting, as well as being a great home feature too. You’ll find the stainless steel finish blends well into almost any setting too, helping to provide an additional touch of class without being excessively conspicuous.

At one time, wine making was a popular hobby that was undertaken by many immigrants to the United States during the early part of the 20th century. In time, this hobby somewhat faded away from popularity and this was a shame. Homemade wine is not only wonderful to drink it is also a great deal of fun to make. Thankfully, the popularity of homemade wine has increased tremendously in recent years and more and more people are taking to it as a fun hobby that has the fringe benefit of supplying unlimited quantities of wine and spirits! And, no, this is no where near as hard of a hobby as many people may think

Fortunately, it does not take a lot of space in the home for wine making, depending of course on how big an operation you plan to have. Additionally, federal law limits the amount of spirits allowed to be produced by an individual for their personal consumption. In many instances, home wine making will produce about four, maybe five gallons per year, with the barrels used for the red wine to ferment taking up the lion’s share of the space.

Same Grapes For Red And White Wine

Some persons getting involved in fruit wine making at home may believe that different types of grapes are used for different color wine. The color of the wine is largely dependent on the length of time the grape peels are left in the crushed grapes. Red grapes are commonly used, but even green grapes will add color to the wine if the peels remain in the juice throughout the fermentation process.

With red wine, once the grapes are crushed and the needed sugar and yeast are added, the peels remain in the juice throughout the fermentation processed. They are removed when the juice is strained to be put into the bottles. For homemade wine making, the peels are removed before the fermentation process begins, and the wine is usually not fermented in wood barrels. When making rose wines, the peels are removed about half-way through the process and then allowed to ferment before being transferred to bottles.

The art of wine making is an ancient one, with proof showing it has been around for thousands of years. Many families have been involved in wine making on a personal level for many generations while some other are just realizing the fun and excitement they can experience by making their own beverage.

Camping trips and outdoor cooking parties are usually laden with pork and beef steaks. And while it is true that these dishes are really mouthwatering, seafood dishes also has a punch of its own. Preparing seafood dishes is especially fun and exciting during beach tent camping trips. This seafood delicacy is not only colorful and attractive, but it is also truly delicious. To make this delectable dish a part of your outdoor entree, you will need about two cups of shrimp with its head and shell removed, about a cup of mixed carrots, radish, turnips, and green peas, and about a cup of corn grains.

Moving on to the cooking proper, prepare your Camp Chef gas stove and a flat surface frying pan. Melt about four tablespoons of butter and sauté chopped white onions and minced garlic cloves on it. Then add shrimps and cook until well done. And just before the shrimps are fully cooked, add the vegetables and corn. Season the dish with pepper and salt to taste and serve with butter slices on top.

White Pasta With Scallops

This seafood dish has got an Italian kick to it which makes it a beautiful addition to your outdoor entrée. It is very elegant looking and yet it is very easy to prepare. To enjoy this delicious seafood delicacy on your beach tent camping trip, prepare half a kilo of flat pasta, about ten to 15 pieces scallops, chopped carrots and celeries, about four spoonfuls of cream of mushroom powder, a cup of evaporated milk, beef bacon strips, salt and pepper taste, and one spoonful of cornstarch dissolved in hot water.

To start the cooking, prepare the pasta first as per packaging instructions and set aside for a while. Then using a frying pan, sauté chopped white onions and minced garlic gloves on butter. Add the scallops before the onion and garlic turn brown and sauté until well done. Then add all the rest of the ingredients into the pan and cook until the sauce is slightly thick in consistency. Add the pasta and serve with basil garnish.

Crab And Vegetable Omelet

Coffee lovers frequently tell you just how the perfect coffee originates from coffee beans ground immediately prior to the coffee being brewed. This has become a familiar statement that veteran coffee lovers know by heart. It makes sense, then, that no home is complete without a coffee grinder that is up to the exercise of converting your favorite beans in to a perfect cup of espresso.

What Makes A Great Coffee Grinder?

In the world of the coffee grinder presently there are two basic styles: burr grinders and blade grinders. The difference between the alternatives is actually how the beans are prepared. Burr grinders employ, obviously, burrs, that look like plates with gears on them. One of the burrs spins and grinds the beans against the other burr, which is immobile. Blade coffee grinders use a spinning blade to grind the coffee beans.

On the subject of great coffee, there are specific elements that affect the end product. The most important of these are heat and uniformity. Given that the process of grinding coffee beans is relatively violent, both burr and blade grinders produce some heat. Heat is unwelcome in a coffee grinder because it damages the coffee. The faster the grinding process, the more heat that gets imparted to the coffee. Finer grinds also gather heat because of the additional time they spend being ground.

One way around the dilemma associated with heat is to purchase an expensive but excellent low-speed burr grinder. The low speed could mean it will take slightly longer to turn your beans into grinds, however anyone who has made use of one of these gems will certainly attest to the standard of coffee they produce.

Another significant quality factor is the uniformity of the grind. In the brewing process, the water spends a certain amount of time passing over the grinds. Uniform grinds are much more efficient at imparting flavor to the water. It may be hard to tell at a casual glimpse, but blade grinders perform a poor job of creating a uniform grind. Burr grinders, on the other hand, create exceptionally uniform grinds, resulting in a significantly better cup of espresso.

Of course, when selecting a coffee grinder, the burr coffee grinder will be the ideal solution. A few of the high-end models can cost several hundred dollars, putting them outside the reach of many shoppers. This should not imply that a small budget usually gets an inadequate coffee grinder. Many web sites offering burr grinders have models below $100. While that might seem a bit pricey, it’s an investment in improving upon a regular habit, and who is able to put a dollar value on a superior cup of espresso every day?
