Authentic Italian Wine

feature photo

Italy is in fact one of the oldest wine-making regions around the world. Their wines can be traced back as far as the Roman Empire and perhaps even prior to that. At present, Italian wines account for about one-fifth of the world’s production of wine.

Wines made in Italy are classically much less sweet and a fairly drier and more acidic when compared to that of the others. This unique taste, unlike the strong and fruity flavors of other wines, perfectly complements the food as it does not interfere with the taste of your meal. There are almost 500 selections and hybrid varieties of grapes that have been qualified to make authentic Italian wines. For red wines, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are most commonly used; while for white wines, the Reisling and Chardonnay.
