What is a Maca?

Maca is a unique root tuber which is used for many years way back mid 15th century. Natives in this area consumed it raw, cooked or boiled and it became important in their everyday diet. Currently the Peru is studying about the benefits of this root and several reports from educational and scientific institution states that maca powder increases sexual endurance, adaptability to stressful situations, increases physical stamina and in both the number and activity of spermatazoids. Maca is high in minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron,zinc and phophorus. It also constitutes up to 20 essential fatty acids, lipids, fiber, crbohydrates, protein and amino acids.
